Covent Garden è un quartiere nel West End di Londra con locali, teatri, pub, negozi, ristoranti etc., esso è visto come il centro della vita culturale, artistica e dello shopping della capitale Britannica. 

In origine era il giardino ed il Convento dell'Abbazia di Westminster, poi chiamato Covent Garden, quando i Monasteri furono sciolti, il re Edward VI lo diede a Earl of Bedford che commissionò ad Inigo Jones la costruzione di alcune case eleganti per attrarre affittuari benestanti. 

Jonas disegnò la piazza con il colonnato insieme alla chiesa di St Paul.

Covent Garden is a district in the West End of London with theatres, pubs, shops, restaurants etc., it is seen as the center of the cultural, artistic life and the shopping area of the British capital. Initially it was the garden and the Convent of Westminster Abbey, later called Covent Garden, when the Monasteries were dissolved, the king Edward VI granted it to di Earl of Bedford who commissionad Inigo Jones to build some fine houses to attract wealthy tenants. Jones designed the arcaded square along with the curch of St Paul's.
